I haven't had the time recently to post even semi-regularly, and some explanation is in order. Back in August, Mrs. Froth and I became foster parents, and hopefully, we'll be able to adopt our new addition. For legal reasons, I cannot reveal much about our new addition, but we got the call one summer afternoon, "Hi, its CYF, we have a child we think would do well in your home, we'll be there in 35 minutes if you accept."
Needless to say, watching two kids is quite time consuming, leaving me very little time to think and write. Oftentimes, when I do get the time, its late, and most of the "A" listers have beaten me to the punch and said things far better than I could.
I feel a bit left on the sidelines during this election, and I'm missing out on some comedy gold with Pennsylvania's porno scandal on the high court, which is becoming quite amusing, albeit embarrassing for the Commonwealth.
So, I'll try to post when I can, but between work, child care, and court apperances, time is tight.
It seems that I cannot post comments to my own posts from my laptop, at least not with this wireless connection. So if you do not get a response to a query in comments, its not that I'm being rude, I just am unable to post a reply.
Well I'll ask the most obvious and pressing question. Will the Pirates make the playoffs?
No. They're playing horribly right now. Winning the division probably will requiring sweeping the Reds for six games over two series. That's just not going to happen. There's the possibilty of getting the wild card, but when you cannot take two of three from Chicago, and lose ANY games at all to the woeful Astros, its a longshot.
That said, with 24 games remaining, 14 of them against some pretty bad teams, and with just 10 wins needed to finish above .500, I expect them to finish with a winning record, although even that is dicey.
