At my last checkup in October, I was stunned to find meself tipping the scales at 245 pounds. I started carefully recording everything I ate, trying to keep my caloric intake below 2100 calories. I pretty rapidly lost 15 pounds, but seemed to be stuck at the 230 pound mark. Two weeks ago, I began to measure out the amount of food I was eating, especially at dinner, limiting myself to 6 oz of meat, no more than half a cup of starch, and as many veggies (usually 2 cups) as I want. I found that loading up on the veg kept me full, without piling up the carbohydrates.
I think its working. Got on the scales this morning and I'm down to 220!
