Things I Do Not Understand

So it turns out I need glasses for reading.  No big deal, I turn 50 this year, so its to be expected.  However, this I cannot understand.  The lenses, those precision ground pieces of glass needed to correct my vision are $23.00, and the freaking frames are $130.00????  WTF???  I'm just happy my employer offers a decent vision plan.
