Lets see, the Romneybot managed to insult the British, insult the Palestinians, and was greeted in Poland by a Ron Paul banner and crowds chanting "Obama!"  How could it get any worse for him?  I suppose he could try telling a few Polish jokes. 

True to form, the representative of the "Party of Personal Responsibility" blames the media for reporting on his diplomatic ineptitude.  I love this:

Mitt Romney's much heralded overseas voyage – designed to showcase him as a global leader and statesman – has ended in farce, with both Romney and his campaign lashing out at the US media for its focus on the Republican presidential candidate's various woes and missteps.

(And yes, I know that Israel is in the Middle East and not Europe, but I really, really wanted to use that headline!)

The Mind Boggles

Mittens says the U.S. must do more to rein in healthcare costs, while praising Israel's health care system.

"Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the GDP in Israel? 8 percent. You spend 8 percent of GDP on health care. And you’re a pretty healthy nation," Romney told donors at a fundraiser at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, speaking of a health care system that is compulsory for Israelis and funded by the government. "We spend 18 percent of our GDP on health care. 10 percentage points more."

Do I need mention that Israel has a socialized medical care system?

“The church congregation had decided no black could be married at that church, and that if [the pastor] went on to marry her, then they would vote him out the church,” Charles Wilson explained.

 “He had people in the sanctuary that were pitching a fit about us being a black couple,” Te’Andrea Wilson added. “I didn’t like it at all, because I wasn’t brought up to be racist. I was brought up to love and care for everybody.”

Dr. Stan Weatherford, the church’s pastor, was forced to perform the marriage at another church after he was taken by surprise by his congregation’s outrage.

“This had never been done before here, so it was setting a new precedent, and there are those who reacted to that because of that,” Weatherford said. “I didn’t want to have a controversy within the church, and I didn’t want a controversy to affect the wedding of Charles and Te’ Andrea. I wanted to make sure their wedding day was a special day.”

I'm not sure if I should admire the pastor for performing the wedding at a different church, so that the couples' wedding day wasn't marred, or to condemn him for refusing to stand up to the bigots in the congregation.

Florida man shoots and kills door to door salesman.

Rainey had knocked on Roop’s door, but received no answer. While Rainey was walking down the drive-way, Roop pulled up in his pickup truck and asked why Rainey was at his house. Rainey explained that he was selling steak and seafood. The witness said Roop then pulled out a black handgun and shot Rainey. As Rainey lay on the ground, Roop fired another bullet into the back of his head.

Roop later told police that he shot Rainey in the head “for effect” and that he had three no trespassing signs on his property. Roop said he feared for his life.

“I’m not going to give him the chance to do something to me,” he told police. “I was in fear.”

Common sense would lead me to believe that no, Florida's controversial stand your ground law doesn't apply, but stranger things have happened in that state.

If Its Friday This Must Be...

The Romenybot's overseas adventure isn't going too well, his gaffe-prone stumbling isn't doing much for his foreign policy bonafides, as he's stuffs his feet into his mouth up to the spats...again and again and again.  First he manages to screw up amost immediatly upon arrival by dissing the preperations made for the Olympics, and the blunders just keep on coming...and coming...and coming.
