I missed last Sunday's Post-Gazette, but the fine folks at 2 Political Junkies had a post on Jack Kelly's latest in that paper, and I cannot believe such a rancid opinion piece appeared in a decent-sized paper in the 21st Century. Read, as Kelly lectures to African Americans on how good they have it in the United States. A sample:
Slavery was horrible, but no black American living today has suffered from it. Most are better off than if their ancestors had remained in Africa.
While Kelly has a right to write, say, or think whatever he wants, he doesn't have the right to get paid for his scribblings to appear in a major newspaper. The Post-Gazette cannot in good concious continue to pay this man.
