I'm shocked, saddened and angry.  Already, people are blaming a religion, or blaming a lifestyle, and some brave folks are actually blaming the thing that is to be blamed...the gun.  And those people are being vilified for pointing out that the gunman simply couldn't have killed all the people he killed if he didn't have easy access to high-capacity, rapid fire weapons.

I'm a gun owner.  I have a pistol with a 13 round capacity for work, an antique bolt action rifle because I think its a fascinating piece of history, and a muzzle loading smoothbore for reenacting. 

I don't think the issue is the gun.  Its the ammo.  Perhaps we should restrict that, after all, it wouldn't create an unconstitutional burden on the right to keep and bear arms.

Hail?

Just had about a five-minute pelting of pea-sized hail.  We normally don't get that 'round here.

Froth Eats Ribs

 So I stopped by The Pitt Stop, a BBQ joint that opened awhile ago up in Bellevue that I've been meaning to try for awhile, and I really want to like it, but I just can't. I got a half-rack with the Korean sauce, and mac and cheese along with mashed red potatos for the sides. The best part of the meal were the potatos, quite tasty. The mac and cheese had very little cheese flavor, and a raw flour taste. The ribs were the biggest disappointment, the sauce had little flavor, and the ribs were badly overdone and as dry as the Griswald's Christmas turkey. 

Maybe I got them on a bad day, so perhaps I'll try them again, perhaps with a more traditional sauce.

I am, in general, not a fan of remakes, but the Roots reboot is fascinating, disturbing, entertaining, thought-provoking, well acted, violent, intelligent, and well, I'm running out of adjetives.
