Wheat Bread

Wheat bread today.  I'm really happy that I decided around this time last year to learn how to bake bread.  Each loaf gets better and better.  Its not hard to do, although a bit time consuming, but the bread tastes great, it makes the house smell wonderful, and its cheaper than buying loaves at the grocery.  Only issue is trying to get uniform slices.  I usually wind up with a sandwich that has one thick slice and one thin slice, or slices that are thin on the top and thick on the bottom, but I understand there are devices to address that issue.

I think I'm getting good at this!  Practice, practice, practice!

Pot Roast

Along with homemade biscuits, roasted root vegetables, and green beans from the CSA.

Second rise and ready for the oven.

Done.  The question now is, "Can I avoid cutiing into it before dinner?"

Italian Rosemary Bread

Egg wash and ready for baking.

Done.  I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.

Bread

I'm a pretty good cook, but one thing I've failed miserably, and repeatedly at is baking.  I resolved recently to bake bread whenever possible in an effort to master baking.  Usually, I fail miserably.  These are the first loaves of bread I've baked that look like they're supposed to, and I'm terrified to cut into them for fear they're going to be as dense as particle board.
