Tell Us How You REALLY Feel Mitt!

Wow.  Just wow.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don't assume responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of them.

Funny, looking at my most recent pay stub, I see that I've paid over $13,000 so far this year in federal income tax.  Adding in the state and local taxes, its close to $20k.  I guess I'm a freeloader because I support the President? 

Willard didn't make things much better for himself at his recent presser:

Romney gave a press conference that is likely to have made his situation worse. He doubled down on what many (including thoughtful conservatives who are not lockstep political partisans defending him no matter what) think was a damaging statement to make. In essence he said, yeah, it was inelegantly stated but his statement was not wrong. He did not use the word “deadbeats” or “moochers” when the secret tape showed him dissing 47% of the American electorate, but many will take it that way.

And if they don’t, the Democrats will help them to see it that way. Democratic ad production companies must be drooling.

I've got to wonder how such a ham-handed person managed to become so sucessful in business? Perhaps a better way to look at it is that sucessful businessmen do not necessarily make sucessful elected officials.

Romney Chooses Ryan

I suppose there have been worse choices for a VP candidate, and so much for the theory that a canditate runs to the extremes in the primaries, and then tacks back to the center for the general.  Guess that Etch-a-Sketch is a bit harder to shake up these days.  Looks like Team Plutocracy is going for the full wingnut campaign. 

Its probably the most honest move Romney's made this year.

International Buffoon's European Vacation

Lets see, the Romneybot managed to insult the British, insult the Palestinians, and was greeted in Poland by a Ron Paul banner and crowds chanting "Obama!"  How could it get any worse for him?  I suppose he could try telling a few Polish jokes. 

True to form, the representative of the "Party of Personal Responsibility" blames the media for reporting on his diplomatic ineptitude.  I love this:

Mitt Romney's much heralded overseas voyage – designed to showcase him as a global leader and statesman – has ended in farce, with both Romney and his campaign lashing out at the US media for its focus on the Republican presidential candidate's various woes and missteps.

(And yes, I know that Israel is in the Middle East and not Europe, but I really, really wanted to use that headline!)

The Mind Boggles

Mittens says the U.S. must do more to rein in healthcare costs, while praising Israel's health care system.

"Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the GDP in Israel? 8 percent. You spend 8 percent of GDP on health care. And you’re a pretty healthy nation," Romney told donors at a fundraiser at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, speaking of a health care system that is compulsory for Israelis and funded by the government. "We spend 18 percent of our GDP on health care. 10 percentage points more."

Do I need mention that Israel has a socialized medical care system?

If Its Friday This Must Be...

The Romenybot's overseas adventure isn't going too well, his gaffe-prone stumbling isn't doing much for his foreign policy bonafides, as he's stuffs his feet into his mouth up to the spats...again and again and again.  First he manages to screw up amost immediatly upon arrival by dissing the preperations made for the Olympics, and the blunders just keep on coming...and coming...and coming.

 

Retroactivly Retired

The spin coming from Team Romeny is hilarious in its ineptitude.  Senior Mittins adviser Ed Gillespie claims that Mittocchio  "retired retroactively" from Bain.

This of course would make his statements made under oath during his run for Massachusetts governor lies, as he stated at the time that he made numerous trips back from Utah for business and to sit on board meetings, thereby maintaining the state's residency requirement for elected officials. 

But its a good thing to know.  After all, in just under two months, I'll be able to retire.  I plan on sticking around though, and its pleasent to know that if I seriously screw up anytime after the second week of September, I can "retroactivly retire" and avoid any responsibility for my actions.

Oh and even prior to 1999, Bain's business practices were pretty unsavory.

Incapable Of Telling The Truth

That would be Mittins.

What's even the point of lying about something like that?

"As Much Education As They Can Afford"

Well, Richie Rich stuck his feet into his mouth up to his spats once again, when he delared last week that students should be able to get "as much education as they can afford."  Which means to those of the lesser, non-Galtian economic class "tough luck."  But after all, how much education to you really need to cut the grass, fight the wars, and clean up the homes of your betters? 

Santorum Strikeout

Willard took all three of yesterday's primaries.  Is it time for Santorum to bow out?  Little Ricky says he's not going anywhere though.

Mitt Romney has taken a stride closer to the Republican presidential nomination by winning primaries in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington DC.

He routed his main rival Rick Santorum in Maryland, winning nearly 50% of the vote, and appeared set for a five-point victory in Wisconsin.

Mr Santorum, who has faced calls to bow out of the race in the name of party unity, defiantly vowed to fight on.

After Romney's wins yesterday, I suspect its time for Mittens to say something remarkably out of touch, like he's helping the economy by employing an elevator operator for the car lift in his new house, or how grateful he is that he doesn't have to worry about what to wear, since his valet takes care for that for him.
